: Simple: Book a seat from Sydney to Albury. Go to another Countrylink office
: and book a ticket from Albury to Melbourne. You can use your discovery pass
: from Sydney to Albury and pay for the other section. You may have to change
: seats. Same for the north coast, but change at Kyogle / Murwillumbah.
If you want a bit of variety, you could catch the V/Line Sprinter from
Albury and back on a pass. You can't go all the way to Melbourne and back,
but you could go to, say, Euroa. You'd have about 2.5 hours for a meal at
the pub, then back to Albury. You'd have some time to kill in Albury
between the pass and the XPT.
