I can confirm that they do stop at Nth Melb and Spencer St before
Flinders St.

There are a few Flinders Street to North Melbourne trains which
stable in NorthMelb Stabling sidings.
One leaves FlindSt(10) at 18:44, another at 19:14 (also from pfm 10)

The 06:39, 06:48 and 16:20 Up's from Nth Melb come directly from Nth Melb
Stabling Sidings.

The 15:57 up Newport is from Newport Workshops, is in the WTT as Empty
from the W'shops to the station, but always carries workshop workers.
