Erkcle,

Obviously you don't know the "pains" many suppliers have to go through
in order to get their goods into large supermarkets. I have heard and
read numerous stories on the demands that supermarkets put to
suppliers. For example, barcode individual items (help with their
computerised checkout) and price margins are the major ones.

For starter, I just can't see OneLink print barcodes on the back of each
MetCard, though there is room for it. Just remember, each barcode is
unique to the product - ie. the barcode for two hour will be different
to weekly and so on.

Secondly, the price margin for MetCards will not be anywhere near say
40% which is what most grocery items are found (for major supermarkets
anyway with bulk purchase power). Therefore, MetCards will be placed in
some location that customers will not even look. Just remember, items
placed on the eye-level usually have greater margins, whereas items on
the lowest shelves usually are generic brand/low margin items. Put
simply, suppliers buying shelf positions for their products.
