Wasn't at least one season done without Mr. Starkey?? ISTR another,
similar, voice on some episodes. 

On another note isn't the Fat Controllers name Sir Topham Hatt?? The
early books had Sir Hatt as the Fat Director (written before 1948).
Now that BR is no more will the Fat Controller once more become the
Fat Director??
