I only got one, but as well as the temperature,
the CO2 build up in the (luckily) half empty
carriage was pretty disturbing, especially
during the 10 immobile minutes between Redfern
and Central.

So why doesn't the SRA get real and allow openable windows for
when they *do* fail?
In fact as far as I can see, every modification to SRA carriages
for over a decade *reduces* passenger comfort.
- the fridge blast down tangara windows when the A/C *is* working
- non-reversible hard seats
- removal of the 'foot-rest bar' from seats
And if psychological comfort counts
- removal of the manual door handles
(never disturbed by that until the air started to
get foul)
