Trains and trams are not designed to wear out and be replaced every few

get new ones, I think not.  I can't think of too many instances
recently, worldwide, when new equipment was really  much better than

Agreed, the Hitachi's are a much more robust, reliable train than the Comeng's
will ever be. A decent rebuild/refurb is what the Hitachi's need.

The best example of new not being as good as old is the poor old Walker
railcar, built to replace the DERMS they were mainly gone before any DERMs were
withdrawn!

They did have great passenger forward visibility though!
