According to Railway Digest, new Paxman's 3000hp engines can accelerate XPT's
journey time. Right now 2, 2000 hp engine run Brisbane to Sydney in about 13
and half to 14 hours and 10 and half hours for Melbourne. How much time will
be reduced for 2, 3000hp engines on these 2 routes? I remember Inter-Capital
Daylights reduced by about 30 minutes when it changed power from 422/X class
to 81/G class I guess it would be similar for XPT.
