In today's Sunday Herald Sun, there is an article on the Braybrook Junction
Disaster (the article calls it the Sunshine Rail Disaster but as we know,
the change of name to Sunshine occurred after the disaster). The article can
be found on p22. Of interest is the memorial service planned for the evening
of Monday 20th April at 10.50pm - 90 years to the minute of the disaster. It
is being organised by Sunshine historian and retired stationmaster Tom Rigg.
Apparently this is the first time a special service has been organised for
the victims of the disaster, the greatest one in Australian railway history
before the Granville disaster in 1977.
