According to information I looked up since Roderick's correction of my post
is that Braybrook Junction was renamed Sunshine on 15/7/1907. However Mark
is correct in saying documentation of the period often referred to the
station as Braybrook Junction (I guess much like Melb. Central is still
referred to as Museum).
Indeed my original thought was that the station was renamed as a result
of the accident and a desire by the local community to not be tainted with
the worst rail disaster in Australia of that time. Obviously I was incorrect
in this thinking and will try and ensure a more factual basis for my posts
in future.
