According to The Age the planned route is Melbourne - Shepparton - Griffith
- Parkes - Dubbo - Longreach - Mount Isa - Darwin.

Sounds a bit round about, eh ? Melbourne - Albury - Cootamundra - Parkes -
Dubbo already exists so I'm not sure where the advantage is.

Considering we've been waiting since 1901 for the Alice - Darwin link I
have a feeling this proposal will quietly fade away.
