Re: Xplorer collision



The real point I  was trying to make here was that the real culprit is not the 
train or the road vehicles themselves, its the level crossing.
Level crossings are really just an economic copout by Governments who dont 
want to spend any money,and as long as not too many people get killed who 
cares.
Its interesting that any future proponents of hi speed rail who want to build 
lines from Sydney to Canberra or anywhere else are prohibited from having any 
level crossings, makes sense too, you wouldnt want to get hit with a train 
travelling at  300 km/h plus.
Surprisingly though , when Governments run "hi-speed trains" like 
XPTs,Explorers & Prospectors then magically level crossings arnt a problem.
Makes you think doesnt it.
