IMHO, there's has never been, and will never be a finer sight or sound
on the post-steam VR than an S or 2 on a long passenger train,
especially the Overland. They are a fine sight indeed on WCR passenger
trains too (:
I'll try and get their respective odometers, and determine just how many
kms these loco's have run in their lifetimes.
B76 will celebrate 45 years ervice on 27/7/98, while the next loco in
service to chalk up a major milestone will be S302, 40 years of service
on 15/9/97.
