I would be surprised if the C's last 12 months more on main line trains.
Don't forget, though, they have had a hard working life. They have always
been a heavy haul loco and average working life for a turboed EMD in the US
is 15 to 20 years. I just hope that some group gets around to preserving at
least one before it is too late.
