To describe Sydney CBD bus services as "more than adequate' is a bit
much. How many CBD bus stops have been eliminated in the last dedcade?
There used to be a stop on every city block, now there is about 1 stop
every three blocks, can't have the buses getting in the way of cars ansd
besides if the STA wants to keep to the timetable it can't stop for
passengers.

Do some research and see how many passengers were carried by trams
within the CBD in previous times and how many passengers are now carried
within the CBD by the STA.
