The old KL Station is still used for KTM Kommuter services.

It is interesting to note that the new KL Station, Sentral, was built by
developers at no cost to KTM, on the condition that they could developre
around the station with shops, hotels etc. So now KL has a world class main
rail station that would put some Airports to shame.

And finally you're right KTM timetable are only an indication that trains
run, not necessarily what time they will run !
