| Yes, the Sydney system is of no comparison to the London tube. We are
| reasonably lucky to have the system we have. Now, if we can only improve
the
| "lay" of the timetables and improve communication to customers (my
original
| points as I see them) then we would have close to a perfect system here. I
| don't mind East Hills trains running consistently 7 mins late if they
| altered the timetable, which is what bus companies work off, so as to
| reflect the true running times on the East Hills line.

There's supposed to be a timetable on the way based partly on the Olympic TT
that allows longer running and dwell times and will more accurately relect
the true running of the system.

| The 5:08pm from
| Central to East Hills never arrives at East Hills less than 5 mins late.
| There are normally no delays along the track on this service yet it can
| never run close to timetable.

It is generally caused by the all stations Bankers in front of it. They
delay most East Hills services, which then delay most Campbelltown trains.
I've never been able to work out why the Bankers run late though, they have
plenty of catch-up time.

That is an example that sums it all up. If
| trains ran to timetable there was be more leeway for departing buses
should
| a train actually be 3 to 5 mins late on a realistic timetable. By 7 mins
| late the connecting buses have well and truly left.
