I've been waiting to have a ride on one, to see just how amazing they 
really are...

Actually I think connex owe me a drive of one of those trains, I'd accept 
it as apology for what they did to me the other day:

I'm legally blind (luckily not totally blind), when I got to Glenferrie 
station early Tuesday afternoon, all the barriers were closed and there 
was no attendant.  I have a rail pass which does not go in the 
validation machine, so, feeling like I was doing something wrong, I had to 
jump the barrier.  Coming home a few hours later, same story.  Then when I 
got off the train at Regent (different train, obviously), there were three 
people there checking the tickets of the 1/2 dozen people who got off...

Great allocation of resources if you ask me!
