Unless your origin and destination are on each station, yes you do. Just as
you have to get to and from the airport, you have to get to and from the
railway station. If you're going to add it to the plane time, you also have
to add it to the train time.

Except that it was stated that there would be check-in and baggage handling
facilities. I'm sure you don't just put your luggage in the aisle on a
300kmh train.

Ansett are now advertising their computerised check-in system. You do it
yourself, even pick your own seat (about bloody time).
