Re: Victorian sg conversion



Also worth keeping in mind,one of the models under consideration in the High
speed trains report was the single line working of the Traralgon line for
HST.(faster trains more loops,state of art signalling etc)
Perhaps it would be possible to have the best of both worlds in this
area,and link Hastings via a new SG line  to Melbourne via the Traralgon
corridor as envisaged earlier in the piece,and convert one track to
Traralgon and beyond to SG.
I know this presents problems for Sale passenger trains but who knows, it
may be feasible to regauge Sprinters to run local trips from Traralgon to
Bairnsdale in much the same fashion as this line operates now with local
services between Traralgon and Pakenham/DNG.
