The simplest way for QR to get into the interstate rail market is to
simply do what ATN did.
Buy some 2nd hand SG locos , buy some chinese built wagons and start
running trains .
There is no reason to have to buy an already existing operator.
In the case of QR though , if they were serious it would be better to
simply lease locos and rolling stock.
Im sure that Clyde would build them a dozen 82 class very quickly on a
power by the hour scheme if QR indicated interest.
Im also pretty sure that if QR approached CFCLA wanting to lease some
SG locos and rollingstock they would magically appear pretty quickly.
