I noticed that to. I was at Burradoo at the end of '98 waiting to see 3801.
The Melbourne XPT came through first and was rather unspectacular, the first
I knew it was coming was when the bells on the pedestrian crossing went off.
The 38 on the otherhand, I could hear it from around Bowral.
