Re: Why keep Clyde?

Clyde and Lidcombe hey?

Every week I'm at Lidcombe to chage from Western to Inner or Bankstown
(Sydenhem via Bankstown) line.
I've always been curious on Clyde station. Before and after.
Before Clyde (Going UP) between the Western and Carlingford line,
there's an abandoned workshop, of what I would infer to be a railway
workshop (those rusted bogies outside).
Any background on that?
(By the way, any of you who have travelled past there may have noticed
two Southern Auroura (Or those 60's Interstate cars) passenger cars
outside the workshop, next to it an old blue colour rail maintenance
vehicle)

I was also noted Comeng use to be opposite Clyde Station (Evidence is
still there, the plain bridge that goes over Duck Creek after clyde
Station and also the flat area next to the UP lines)

Anyways, if Carlingford Line would be moved to Lidcombe (Or terminates
there) would intercity services stop there? (It's fair, Strathfield has
a four line interchage)

Please correct me if i have any errors.
