No Airport link is going to be railway line, but Brisbane's LRT project
recieved federal funds to kick starts.

Also they planned to convert 2 of the quadriple line to LRT, which
would means reduce in capapcity for freight train path.

Why don't QR buy some LRT share???

No, it's gonna be railway line, otherwise those 12 IMUs on order would
be wasted

Light rail can run at faster speed, usually with separate right of way.
example Sydney's tram system(well, the only tram system they got now)
is "Light rail".
Melbourne's route 96/109 and portion of 86/75 can consider to be LRT,
Adelaide's only tram line is also a LRT type.

Trams normally refers to trams that share right of way/road with cars
on street.
