It's not just the Tulloch trailers that are going to be replaced. Some of
the 1st series standard Commonwealth Engineering power cars are going to be
withdrawn as well, as they are falling apart.

Hope at least one example is preserved.

This leads to another point: If the early double deckers are at the end of
their useful life, that would mean the 2nd series Comeng cars would not be
far behind. So unless they were built tougher, a lot of replacement
carriages would need to be built within the next 10 years or so.
