Well Sir Genius, point us to the relevant legislation that states that we
are not allowed to listen to police, fire or ambulance radio. Please do not
reply to this post until you find this.
I know this, because there was big debate in the late 80's about whether
scanners should be made illegal. The outcome was, this got thrown out of
parliament and the decision makers settled on outlawing conversations that
extend to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). Nowhere was
legislation passed to outlaw listening to police, fire, ambulance or
anything, unless it extended into the public switched telephone network.
So, Sir Genius, do you have a relevant cite for your claim?
