In my own opinion, yellow stripes on the pilot would completely ruin it. 
It's better off staying the solid green. But then again I am one who is 
also against the green/gold stripes on the front of sparks :) 

Does it really increase visibility enough to be the make or break in an 
accident? I think not. That's the horn/lights job :)
