Re: Airport Link to Bring Changes.

Obviously the article did not satisfactorily explain to the readers why
trips to the airport would be more expensive than to the City as can be
shown by the following letter which appeared in today's issue of the same
paper.

"If CityRail us serious about getting cars off the road, why is it charging
so much for travellers to the new Airport Link stations?
A weekly rail ticket between Sutherland and the City costs $27 yet a weekly
to the International Terminal costs $34.50, a journey that is significantly
shorter.
The airport region employs thousands of workers, many of whom would be
willing to use the new train services, but the inflated ticket prices will
cause commuters to think twice about making the switch.
Is there some strange reason why CityRail are charging so much?
These are just ordinary new rail stations aren't they?
Or perhaps they plan to supply passengers with a complimentary buffet meal,
glass of wine and an ironed newspaper.
I believe the public is owed an explanation.
Greg Cantori, Bangor"

Well we know the reason, don't we?
