Let the tilt train departs Brisbane earlier
say:

Brisbane    dep  740
Rockhampton avs 1440

Rockhampton dep 1540
Brisbane    avs 2240

then you only needed 1 set of tilt train.

as for ICE put them on Bundaberg service

Bundaberg dep  730
Brisbane  avs 1300

Brisbane  dep 1700
Bundaberg avs 2230

This might take slightly longer, but the timing is reasonable and
utility ICE's purpose as a long distance travel train rather then a
commuter train.

ps: what about class 2000 railcars that used to be on Corinda shuttle?
put them back to Helidon/Gatton service?
