Some call them cable cars, but they could then be confused with the San
Francisco variety.  It's not a gondola, the term sometimes applied to the
small enclosed cars found in multiple on a rope, used by Americans to denote
an open freight or passenger railroad car, and in Italy for the enormously
expensive form of canal transport used in Venice.  In my books it's not an
aerial tramway, which requires rails just as a railway would.  It runs on a
wire rope, so hence it's a ropeway.

And as for the name Sceniscender, what sort of Manglish is that?
