Re: Echuca Loco Restoration



I was at Echuca on Anzac Day this year.
(returning to sydney after Easter chasing steam trains in Victoria...)
A2 996 was still in primer, with the boiler clothing removed and stored in
various places (eg. under the tender)
All components seemed to be around in one place or another.

I also saw the N class boiler that provides steam for the sawmill.
It still has its original smokebox, so it looks very 'VR'.

I'd recommend Echuca and the wharf for any steam buffs passing thru...
Lots of steam machinery of all sorts.
Well worth a visit.
