Surprisingly I didn't mind my maths class at school. I hated the
course work, but the classroom faced out on to the railway at Glenfield.
One of the classes' (only 11-13 guys- we made up the bottom 3u class)
favorite past times was to get me to guess which train going past by the
sound!

It was a good activity in the pre-NR days, with 81 or G/422 combos
being the go most of the time. You could quite easily throw in a 48
(very easy to guess) on the Freight Rail/Corp combos. The difference
between Jumbos and 80's was harder.(Unless they hit the horn) You had to
be careful not to mistake a 82 for an 81 at first, but they are easier
to get after a while.

T, S and C sets were easy to distiguish as well. :-)

With 5 hrs of maths time to kill each week you had to think of
something to do! For the record, when we got to stats it was calculated
that I was keeping 92% accuracy. :-)

For my HSC I got 72/100 in 2u and 32/50 in 3u- but the HSC is all about
ranks- I won't tell you what they were! :-)
