Yes, the Knox City extension of the 75 is the one proposed to be built
following the Box Hill extension of the 42/109. It will make it a VERY
long line but the idea is to serve the lineal route between Burwood and
Knox where there are lots of homes, schools, businesses and shopping
centres. Nobody is suggesting that anyone except transit freaks like us
will catch a tram from the city to Knox or return. It will in effect be
a suburban line serving the suburbs, not a commuter line to the CBD.

Similarly the Box Hill extension is not meant to take people from Box
Hill to the city -- they catch the much faster train. The Box Hill
extension is to provide a link between Kew/Balwyn and Box Hill, as well
as a transfer from the trains east of Box Hill to and from the tram
service to and from Kew/Balwyn.
