Re: [NSW] CityRail fixed up it's act?

Unfortunately the Friday 8:00 AM From Cheltenham to City semi express was
routed into Platform 1 at Strathfield (instead of the flyover) and continued
on the main all the way to McDonaldtown were the guard announced a short
delay due to signals. The train proceeded after a fairly long delay but did
not cross over to the suburban lines. It stopped at the next signal and the
guard announced (somewhat embarrassed he was) that the train would proceed
to Central Terminus due to an earlier incident on platform 3 at Redfern.
The train stopped at Platform 1 Redfern were the guard then announced "that
you had better change trains here". The train then proceeded to platform 3
at Central Terminus. You should have seen the crush as passengers tried to
get up to platforms 16/17 as the same time as passengers tried to get down
the steps. I gave up and ducked back up to Platform 14/15 and went down the
stairs that join up to the suburban platforms. What a bloody awful stuff up.
I suspect the real reason that a path couldn't be found for my train to
cross to the suburban lines so the excuse of an incident at Platform 3
Redfern was cooked up.
