Re: FV news.
Aus loco discussion mailing list
FV's short term loco planning department was in full swing today, with just
about every combo altered from my report yesterday!
9121 Geelong to Ouyen grain departed Geelong just after 1pm with G 523-X 36-G
543-H 4 hauling 26 goofys. At Maryborough, G 523 was detached leaving the train
to continue to Ouyen with the X-G-H combo.....more than likely with the X class
leading as country crews can't cope with the modern braking technology that G
543 offers.....ie 30ACDW brake valve.
9137 Geelong to ???? grain was sighted at Lal Lal at 1524 hauled by green X 49
leading X 44 with 35 goofys. I assume this train is a Panitya line grain train.
9123 Geelong to ???? grain was sighted at Lal Lal around 1740 hauled by G 513-G
515-X 41.
9391 Geelong to Oaklands grain passed Corio at 1832 hauled by X 54-X 53 hauling
19 goofys.
Great to see a few X class locomotives running around the place without crates
on the front of every grain train. Looks like a good grain season ahead so the
Geelong area might be the place to be if X's keep appearing!!
X 47 was stabled all day at South Dynon, attached to A 71. Can't remember A 71's
roster for Monday, but it could be 9461 Maryvale paper train.
