Re: G543 and FV Lara Happening's and Vic Sat 30

Today I traveled to Geelong on the 17.55 Sth Geelong pass and returned on the up Westcoast pass with R711-B61and can add to Steve's posting.
The reason G543 may of been sent to Geelong was probably due to a lack of mainline locos at Geelong loco. There was only G543, X?? & T400-T371-T396. On the way down I passed two grain trains. G525-G524 at North Shore, while at Nth Geelong yard G512-A78 were ready to head towards Melbourne.
With exception of the above mentioned grain train not much else of interest was around. There was a Patrick train in with CLP8-CLF7. The Great Northern yard had GM41's cab section. It has been purchased by an employee of GN and is stored there for the moment.
Also FV repainted G529 did not arrive this morning on the toll train, it is now due to arrive Monday (about the same time as the RTM tour arrival).

G543 just passed Lara light loco at 1817 heading towards Geelong.  A quick phone call to a contact in Geelong revealed that G543 has come to Geelong to run a Wheatie possibly to Marybourgh on Sunday due to some problem's up the track. My source in Geelong can not confirm its run to Marybourgh but that is the plan.

Also Saturday night, Oaklands Empty Wheat almost ready for a departure from Nth Yard with  two G's and a Tocumwal Wheatie is ready for a deaparture right behind with a G and A class.

on the steam side R711 passed through Lara this morning with B?? and 10 cars only 5mins late.
