IN all the discussions I have seen about colour schemes in WA I have
never seen any reference about the safety colours of Red with Yellow
stripes which where applied to at least 2 L's, an X, a J an A and I
believe ultimately one of each mainline class (not the NG Shunters) as
a trial circa 1975. I always liked the early standard gauge scheme,
thought the two tone blue on the latter delivered L's was the best but
also liked the Red. The Orange did not do much for me I am afraid.
Is anyone in the know as to why the Red and Yellow was not proceeded
with?
