A 3 car Connex Comeng set went to the Flemington Racecourse after 10 30 Wed for the VRC launch of the second class platform.
This was the first of it's type to do so, as none are running the regular trains for the cup due to through running of RCE trains to Sandringham, there were concerns over vandalism on that line.
The second platform at Racecourse was used at the height of forward and
return Race Traffic on, Derby Day, Cup Day and Oaks Day.

Special Carriages on the Albury Pass
Sunday April 9, 2000

The Down Albury Pass was noted with two orange N's leading 8 cars. The last two cars were the Victoria club car, and a BS.  The rest of the consist then was 2 N sets, one v/line livery, and one VLP livery.
This train then returned on the UP with an orange N and the 2 other carriages + the orange N set.  - More info, and photos soon - courtesy Michael Kurkowski.

Essendon Rotary Club Shuttles - (K190)

Sunday April 9, 2000
Consist: K190 (facing north) and from north to south, 61BW + 68BW + 67BW + 64AW + 63BW + 63ABW.

There was a delay at Broadmeadows because the driver stopped too quickly and the last set of wheels were still on the track circuit, this prevented the signaller unlocking the points (with the plunger) since the plunger on the points is track locked.
After working this out K190 (green) had to run back around to the down end and pull the train forward but to the down line since a Spark was waiting to enter the platform.  Eventually ran a round the train and left 15 late.  The train consisted of K190 (facing north) and from north to south, 61BW + 68BW + 67BW + 64AW + 63BW + 63ABW.
