According to yesterday's Weekly Times, Freight Victoria will seek state
government financial assistance of "about $2 million" reopen Sale to
Bairnsdale.
Bairnsdale is in the electorate of East Gippsland, and either major party
needs the support of independent member Craig Ingram to govern. Ingram
said it was in the best interests of East Gippsland to reopen the line.
