wonder if Freight Victoria would even want "their" lines converted to SG?
They have all the BG rolling Stock [S.A. have BG too but their RS is fully
utilised at home]
SG would bring a lot of competipition from elsewhere...eg Wiscon Central, or
National Rail.
Keeping it BG will make it a lot easier to gain a fair return on their
Investment here.
Interesting addition is that the US Hoppers supposed to be imported here,
soon, are fitted witgh SG bogies, which will not be suitable for re-gauging
to BG..not wide enough for the longer axles, and the castings are not fitted
with dual brake hangers.Victorian SG bogies are fitted with dual brake
hangers and built to wider BG specs.
