How can we make trains run later?

The retards at shittyrail have done it again - introduced a new way of
making trains run late. Attached is an OCR (unedited)

Locking Door Motor and Public Address Project.
New equipment has been fitted to cars 3981, 3979, 4076, 4949, & 3052.
This new equipment consists of 1. Door Open Indicator Lamps (DOIL)
2. Door Open Traction Interlock (DOTI) 3. Door Warning Device (DWD)
4. Emergency Door Release (EDR)
This equipment will change the operation of the train as follows.
1. Door Open Indicator Lamps (DOIL)
The purpose of the DOIL is to infonn the crew that a door has not fully
closed and therefore help to prevent incidents where people are caught
in doors. The door open sensors can detect obstructions as small as 5 to
15 mm.

DOIL Location

A DOIL lamp is located at each door control box facing into the
vestibule and can be seen through the door windows from outside the car.
A DOIL lamp is located.on each guards door control station. A pair of
DOILs are located on the drivers desk and labelled DOOR OPEN.
DOIL 0 operation

If any passenger door does not Uly close, the DOIL in the affected
vestibule and all four (4) DOILs in all active crew cabs will be ON.
Providing all doors closed properly at the previous station, any DOIL
indication must apply to the side that was just opened.

Because the DOILs in the crew cab do not identify which door is not
fully closed, the guard must look along the train or in the worst case
walk along the train to fmd it and ensure it is shut.

DOIL IsoMon

A new Door Open Indication Circuit MCB has been added to the drivers MCB
panel. This MCB supplies power to the Door Open Indication Circuit in
each motor car and its attached trafler. Tripping this MCB will isolate
the Door Open Indication Circuit.

If the Door Open Indication Circuit has been isolated in a pair of cars,
additional vigilance will be required by the guard to ensure all
passenger doors are fully closed before giving the all-right bell
signal.

2. Door Open Traction Interlock (DOTI)

The purpose of the DOTI is to ensure the driver and guard don't miss a
DOEL indication.

DOTI Location

The DOTI equipment is located in a new cupboard behind the drivers chair
and is only accessed by maintenance staff.
DOTIO operation

Whenever the Door Open Pushbutton is operated, the DOTI will interrupt
the Control Governor circuit and prevent the driver from applying power.

The DOTI will automatically reset and permit the driver to apply power;
I . After all doors are fully closed and the DOILs have gone off,
         or
2. After a delay of 15 seconds from the operation of the Door Close
Pushbutton

DOTIlsolation
Tripping the Door Open Indication Circuit MCB will isolate the DOIL
circuit and therefore the DOTI circuits.
If the Door Open Indication Circuit has been isolated in a pair of cars,
additional vigilance will be r&quired by the guard to ensure all
passenger doors are fully closed before giving the all-right bell
signal.
If a fault exists in the DOTI circuit that prevents the driver from
applying power and tripping the Door Open Indication Circuit MCB does
not isolate the fault, the existing Emergency Push Button (EMPB) can be
used to override the Control Governor. In this case there is no need to
touch the SAI equipment and the usual conditions apply to the use of the
ENIPB.
3. Door Warning Device (DWD)
The Door Warning Device provides an automatic "Stand clear, doors
closing" PA announcement each time the Door Close Pushbutton is
operated.

DWD Operation
When the Door Close Pushbutton is operated, the DWD will hold the doors
open for approximately three (3) seconds while the automatic "Stand
clear, doors closing" PA announcement is made. At the end of the
announcement the doors will close.

Guards must be aware of the three (3) second delay between operating the
Door Close Pushbutton and the beginning of door closing.

In an emergency, a manual crew PA announcement will override the
automatic DVID announcement.

DWD Isolation

The DNVD is powered by the Guards Control MCB and will not operate
unless a bell plug is IN.

The DWD output goes to the PA arnplifier, therefore if noisy or
continuous automatic PA announcements occur, the PA MCB can be tripped
or the bell plug can be removed to stop the automatic PA announcements
until the guard relocates to another work station.

4. Emergency Door Release (EDR)

The EDR is provided to allow authorised staff to open passenger doors
from outside the train.

EDR location Two (2) EDRs are fitted to each car, diagonally opposite
near doors with steps. The EDR switch cover flaps are

marked "EDR".

EDR Operation

To operate an EDR, lift the cover flap and insert a Bi-Lock key in the
switch. Rotate the key clockwise to open the adjacent set of doors.
Return the switch to the normal position to remove the key and close the
adjacent doors.

EDR Isolation

The EDR utilises an air reservoir located under the end saloon passenger
seats as an emergency air supply if normal MR air is not available.

If a fault develops and the EDR needs to be isolated, then isolate the
doors as per normal instructions. If a serious fault develops with the
EDR reservoir, isolate the reservoir by closing the CRM cock but
remember this will impact on other important equipment such as reverser
and line switches.

Reporting Faults

All faults with the new equipment to be reported via the normal channels
