This is off the subject a bit.

In 1970 a rail line (electrified and station) was proposed from 
Sunshine to Jacana stand gauge line around Airport West to 
Tullamarine International Airport plus tram line extension of 59.
(Dad worked in aviation at that time until 1984) 

The rail line was to go in front of the bottom half of the terminal 
&
The tram line was to go in front of the top half of the terminal.

The next time your in the state library, see if they have the 
survey plans for the Great Melbourne plans of 1924-1927,
10 miles radius (it is A3 size and 5 inches thick).
most of the planners / designers uses it now to do the current
work now being develop.
