Transrapid has officially abandoned plans for Sydney - Canberra, deciding
that it was not financially viable. Had the ALP been in government
(Federal), Canberra might have got a $6 billion lemon.

Their new plan is a Sydney - Wollongong - Eden - Lakes Entrance -
Melbourne line, which by my calculations would cost roughly $30 billion
for the guideway alone.
