Bombala (was Re: NSW country rail lines upgrade)
Are these the correct chain of events that occurred in regard to the Bombala
line:
1986- Abandoned beyond Cooma
1989/90- Abandoned Queanbeyan to Cooma
Since then
soon after- restored by Michelago Tourist Railway- Queanbeyan to Michelago
1998/99 restored by Cooma Monaro Railway- Cooma to Bunyan
1999 restored for freight use Queanbeyan to Hume
Questions:
What is the line status between Michelago and Bunyan?
Are there significant costs associated with restoring this section?
How does the NSW rail authority start operating a line that they abandoned and
was restored by a tourist body?
Is the track still in place beyond Cooma?
