Maybe this is where a new philosophy from the Feds is required. Are they serious about reduction ofroad trauma and
asssociated ills caused by "Some" elements of the road industry.
Maybe the money raised by diesel fuel tax could be used to subsidise investment by suitable transporters in new
equipment such as Road Railers.

What are the pros and cons of a modified road railer...a generic skeletal frame with all road railer stuff..suitable for
containers.

yes I know containers can be lifted..but this may be another appraoch  to moving freight door to door....especially in
areas that dont have intermodal gear.

Admittedly a little out there!! :-)
