My employer is located in Balmain (although I work from Canberra) and
there are local rumours about the SLR eventually running up the southern
side of the peninsula after the docks close. The terminus would be
in/near Ewenton Park. Unfortunately it would not be possible to get the
line all the way to Balmain East wharf without a substantial bridge over
the small bay near tha park and extensive earthworks to the eat.

Of course, they could always build a smaller version of the Glebe Island
bridge from Millers Point. :)
