...S.Paulo to Rio has been discussed for quite some time (as a normal
high speed line, mind you) and it could make sense if financing were
available. But S.Paulo to Campinas? There's 100km that would transit 100
passengers a day, if that. There is currently a fairly modern railways
between two cities but only for freight; and a fast highway, Rodovia dos
Bandeirantes, which the Govt built at considerable expense and which does its
job well, and which doesn't have any need to be replaced.
Other ideas:
-the penguin maglev: North Pole-South Pole, via Baghdad;
-the freedom maglev: Beijing-Lhasa;
-the peacekeeping maglev: Tirana-Pristina;
-the island maglev: connecting all of the Polynesian islands;
