Run 8207 MSS-GEX with S302, CP291, BS212, BRS222, BZ269, ACZ255,
PCP292. A poor run to WRB, arrived GEX 5 late. Noted 8174 at CRT,
cross NR+NR-down freight at WRB at 0922, GEX loco Y122, T392, X39, T371,
H4, G524, G513, G516, Y121, X36. Home on 1540 up, N loco - N set, GEX
loco X36, H5, H4, T371, G525, T392, Y121, G526. G+G+X at Nth Geelong
‘C’ box. At Nth Shore the building on the BG platform had been
demolished, while the new SG platform now had it’s bus shelter
installed.
Tues 27/4/99 - run 8207 MSS-GEX with S300, BRS225, BS206, BRS221, BZ267,
ACZ257, PCP294. Arrive GEX on time. GEX loco G513, X31, Y122, X42,
T371, X53, T392, H4, H5. Home on 1540 up, noted 8171 at CRT sdg.
Wed 28/4/99 - run 8207 MSS-GEX with B61, BS212, BRS222, BZ270, ACZ255,
PCP292. Again poor run to WRB, arrive GEX 4 late. GEX loco X52, G526,
G514, G516, H5, H4, T392. Home on 1540 up, GEX loco G516, G525, G512,
H4, H5, T392. Noted NR38 at NRC Steel Terminal.
Thurs 29/4/99 - to GEX on 0746 pass. Overhead was pulled down by a
Comeng at the down end of platform 13 - the Sale pass (N loco - D van -
N set) departed platform 8. Cross in progress at Newport,
H5+H4+T392-down BG goods, crossing G540-up SG goods. GEX loco G523,
G513, X42, G524, X50, X40, Y115, Y169, G516. Home on 1700 up, GEX loco
Y169, X50, G523, T392, H4, H5. G+X at Nth Geelong ‘C’, and Y122-down
oil pots at Nth Shore. Light engines GM42+GM43 sitting in Manor Loop
no. 2 road at 1726. CLF2-down SG goods through Newport at 1744.
Sat 1/5/99 - run 8207 to GEX with B61, BS205, BRS229, BZ267, ACZ252,
PCP294. On time running. GEX loco Y122, Y169, N456, G513, X53, G525,
Y121, N474, A77, N461, X42, G516, Y115. Home on 1235 up, N loco - FLH
set - PH powervan (had run to Sth Geelong acc. football). Cross
NR+NR+NR-down steel at Lara at 1249. At MSS, all country trains using
platforms 7, 8, 13 and 14 acc. placing new beams on the road bridge near
no. 1 box.
Sun 2/5/99 - to GEX on 1730 pass, run 8246 GEX-MSS with B76, CP291,
ACZ257, BRS224, BRS225, BS207, BRS223. On time running.
Mon 3/5/99 - run 8207 MSS-GEX with B76, BRS224, BS205, BRS229, BZ267,
ACZ252, PCP294. Arrive GEX 3 late. Then to BXT with R711+T363, BS201,
JTA1 Nomuldi, RMS2360, PCO2 test train. Dep GEX 1230, arrive BXT 1401.
Turn R711, return as R711, PCO2, RMS2360, JTA1 Nomuldi, BS201. Dep BXT
1601, cross 9137 G525+X53+X42 at Warrenheip Loop, cross 9123 G523+G513
at Gheringhap Loop, arrive GEX 1751.
Tues 4/5/99 - run 8207 MSS-GEX with S300, BRS223, BS212, BRS222, BZ269,
ACZ255, PCP292. Arrive GEX 3 late. GEX loco T374, X31, G526, Y169,
T388, T392, H5, A78. Home on 1740 up, N loco, N set, BCZ, BS, BS. GEX
loco Y169, H5, T392, T388, Y121, Y122. At Nth Geelong ‘A’, G512+G526 on
9080. WCR dining car RMS2360 at MSS.
Wed 5/5/99 - to GEX on 1155 SOG (N loco - FN set), then run 8217/46 with
S300, BS212, BRS222, BZ269, ACZ255, PCP292, home with S300+B61, PCP292,
ACZ255, BZ269, BRS222, BS212, BS206, BRS224. On the 1155, noted 8175 at
CRT, cross CLx+CLP-up goods at 1227. G525 ex Waurn Ponds at Nth Geelong
yard. GEX loco X53, X42, G523, G513, H5, T392, Y169. 8217 dep GEX on
time, cross 8232 at WIA (B76), arrive WMB 1 late. 8246 dep WMB on time,
cross 8237 at WIA (B76), wait time 6 mins GEX, arrive MSS on time.
Thurs 6/5/99 - Warrnambool Race Day, run 8207 MSS-WMB with S300, BS207,
BRS224, BS206, BS212, BRS222, BZ269, ACZ255, PCP292. Dep MSS 3 late,
add S302 to lead at GEX, WLC 8 mins at XCO, WLC 22 min CDN, arrive WMB
32 late. Run 8246 WMB-MSS with S302, PCP294, ACZ252, BZ267, BRS229,
BS205, BS206, BRS224, BS207. Dep WMB on time, cross 8237 at WIA (B61),
it was late so 14 mins late ex GEX, arrive MSS 18 late.
Mon 10/5/99 - Operations Office GEX station. Noted the Waurn Ponds with
X39 down at 1104, up at 1242.
Tues 11/5/99 - Operations Office GEX station. Waurn Ponds with G515
down 1200, up 1330
Wed 12/5/99 - Operations Office GEX station. Waurn Ponds with G512 down
1206, up 1340, delaying 8217 and 8232.
Thurs 13/5/99 - Run 8207 MSS-GEX with B76, BS205, BRS221, BZ267, ACZ252,
PCO2. Arrive GEX 1 early. Noted G527 L.E. in Manor Loop no. 2 road at
0920. GEX loco G513, G525, X53, T371, Y122, X34, Y121, X43, T388, H4,
H5. Home on 1700 up, GEX loco H5, H4, T388, X44, G524, T374.
Fri 14/5/99 - Operations Office GEX station. Waurn Ponds with G523 down
1050, up 1219.
Sat 15/5/99 - to GEX on 1155 pass, then to XCO per car, onto R711-down
empty cars (ex 8207), then run 8246 with R711, PCO2, ACZ252, BZ267,
BRS221, BS205, BK700. On the 1155, noted BL30+BL34-down Long Island at
1157, 8171 at CRT, cross NR86-up steel at Nth Shore 1241. GEX loco A81,
Y129, G515, X43, X53, G513, G523, N451, G512. Overtook R711 at
Warncourt, and just beat it to XCO. It took water at the up end gantry,
then shunted to no. 2 road to cross 8232. Empty cars depart XCO approx
1436, CDN 1506*, TEG 1522*, arr WMB 1556. Turn at take water. 8246 dep
WMB 5 late, take water at XCO, dep GEX 19 late, arrive MSS 16 late. 54
mins running time GEX-MSS with a stop at WRB.
Sun 16/5/99 - day trip to Echuca via Nth Shore, Ballarat, Maryborough,
Castlemaine, Bendigo, Echuca, returning via Bendigo and Kyneton.
Consist X49, PCJ492, Victoria, BCZ261, BS217, ACZ259. Things of note -
stopped to pick up passengers at Gheringhap (how long since this has
happened?), used BXT no. 2 platform, G525+T371 stabled on up wheatie at
Maryborough, 2 ballast wagons at Moolart, 30km/h running
Maryborough-Castlemaine, use Castlemaine no. 2 platform while WLC, use
Bendigo no. 1 platform while WLC, arriving at Echuca approx 1700. X33,
X44 and A85 at Echuca. The Bendigo motor (7003) was docked up behind
the pass and departed while X49 was turned. A spit-roast was enjoyed by
tour passengers, many of which found the footbridge an ideal place to
eat one’s dinner while surveying the yard. Departing at 1800, used
Bendigo no. 2 platform while the down Swan Hill pass (N458) was in
platform 1 with HEP problems (hence it’s passengers were in the dark),
arriving at MSS around 2140.
Mon 17/5/99, to GEX on 1155 pass, run 8217/46 with B76, BRS221, BZ267,
ACZ252, PCO2. On the 1155, noted NR84+NR33-up steel at Newport at 1210,
GEX loco T396, H4, H5, G512, X32, X43, G525. 8217 dep GEX 1 late, cross
8232 at WIA (S300), it was late (8207 had been delayed badly by
signalling problems in the metro area, hence delaying the turnaround),
so arrive WMB 19 late. A81, T369 and B61 at WMB. 8246 dep WMB on time,
cross 8237 at WIA (S300), it too was late, so dep GEX 14 late, arrive
MSS 11 late.
Tues 18/5/99 - to GEX on 1155 pass, run 8217/46 with S302, BS212, BS207,
BRS224, BZ270, ACZ257, PCP292, leaving BS212 at WMB. On the 1155, noted
8178 at CRT, GEX loco T371, H4, H5, T388, X43, X53, G514, G521. 8217
dep GEX on time, cross 8232 at WIA (B61), it was late again (speed
restrictions over recently welded track are hurting timekeeping), arrive
WMB 16 late. B76, T369 and A78 at WMB. 8246 dep WMB on time, cross
8237 at WIA (B61), wait time 7 mins GEX, arrive MSS 1 late.
Thurs 20/5/99 - Operations Office GEX station, Waurn Ponds with G511
down at 1036.
Sat 22/5/99 - to GEX on 1155 pass, per car GEX-WMB, run 8246 WMB-MSS
with R711, PCP292, ACZ252, BZ267, BRS222. On the 1155, noted 8174 at
CRT, GEX loco X52, Y121, Y122, X34, X41, G511, A81, Y169. 8246 dep WMB
on time, lost time in each section, arrive MSS 21 late. Again achieved
54 mins GEX-MSS with a stop at WRB
