Re: Travelling home with Hillside trains <=> V/line

: It's been a pretty disappointing weekend for some aspects of Melborne
: suburban train travel to date. It's as if Hillside have gone out of their
: way to make it damn near imposible to catch any form of country train on
: time -

Have you seen the latest Hillside trick for late running trains?
If a train is running late (like 10 minutes) and they need it back
at the other end (like most trains) the do one or both of the following:
Run Express for some part of the journey (when it is ment to stop) or,
terminate (short running, like trams used to alot) early.

Some Examples:
Up Train from Lilydale runs express Lilydale - Ringwood - Box Hill -
Camberwell - Richmond.
Down Eltham train runs express Jolimont - Clifton Hill - Ivanhoe -
Heidelberg - Greensbourgh. (Passing a stopping all stations
train at Heidelberg)
A down Lilydale train running late terminates at Mooroolbark and
returns to the city.

No trains do the express running show above.

Changing services half way through the trip is stupid. Like the trams
used to short run because they were running late.
