Did you pay your $100 Jeff-tax in 1993 or did you leave the country
beforehand?

Neither. Running a railway and paying railway staff from the Casino
earnings gleaned from Victoria's poor, is worse. Maybe we should make
entry to the Casino means-tested? I am against the Casino but I am
also against the closing of Hospitals. If it means we get both or none
at all, then I'll opt for both.

And your proof that Kennett is better at "cooking the books" better
than Labour is...................? My perception is that Kennett is a
little more honest than Labour in as much as it possible for any
politician to be honest, which isn't really saying much.

And is it Kennett's social cost we need to look at or Cain/Kirner's?

Victorian voters decided on that question 6 years ago. The fact that
Kennett was re-elected again not that long ago, meant that Victorians
generally are not too upset with the cost. They did a poll recently;
38% of Labour voters prefer Kennett to Brumby. Victoria is the fastest
growing state in the country unlike the basket case we were under
Labour. Many people were leaving the state then, now they are coming
back. The Libs are better at minding the purse than Labour. Labour in
government has better social ideas, but pays little regard to funding
them.
