I work near Strathfield, and was handed a leaflet yesterday at
Strathfield Plaza shopping centre. This advised that they are
now going to start charging for parking on weekends (first 3 hours
free, then charges apply).
They have had to do this as a result of people utilising their
free shoppers carpark all day, while they go to the Stadium - they must
have had a major problem during the recent Open Day. They will charge
every day during the Easter Show.
This would tend to suggest that secure, free parking anywhere within
a very wide radius of Homebush Bay is just not viable, particularly
if its near a railway station.
